QPR are interested in Andros Townsend.

Regular sufferers of my agenda driven drivel readers will be unsurprised to hear the idea of moving young Andros on is music to my ears.

We’ve already suffered somewhere around a combined 16 seasons of threatening but inevitably failing to come good from Azza Blud and Tommy Huddlestone.

After being loaned out 9 times and then given a run out in the first team, the return on that investment was 1 goal and a harrowing statistic.  92.7% of Townsend’s shots were off target.

Of course it would be great if he even vaguely looked like he was beginning to mature and develop a greater sense of awareness. But the sad reality is, he has become an outfield version of Defoe.

Head down, find a yard, wallop.

The suggestion is that QPR will offer £10million. If we use Jake Livermore as a yardbroomstick, achieving £8m when sold to Hull City, then the price looks about right.

Ideally, he give us some clue that his game had progressed and we could keep him, watch him become worth £20million. But that’s down to him, and so far we’ve been given no indication that he’s on that path.

A big wotcha! to all our gallant pals, the stars of this blog, in the Antwerp Arms this afternoon.

I hope you have a smashing time, before during and after the game.

Best, H.
