Come to China, they said.

We’ll have a ball, they said.

Mousa Dembélé said: “It is anyway a very difficult choice. For young players still have to grow, it is not wise to go down. For older players might is different. But honestly I have no idea about the level of football. It is hard to say.”

These people have not only put our man Mousa on a ‘Likely To Be Eating Lots Of Chinese Food Soon’ list, they’ve even got a quote from him on the subject.

Have in FC Inscrutable placed a bid for our Belgian beauty? I’d say the odds were far better than even.

Is Mousa off?

At 29 with 3 years left to run on his current deal it would be insane for THFC to refuse a lunatic lump sum.

I signed up for Cantonese language lessons when I started Law School. I didn’t follow through with them as I was having major difficulties with the English language stuff. It’s definitely worth having a bit o’ Canto cant, in my opinion. I might pick it up later in the year.

Pump up the value of the squad as a whole, after most contracts have been signed, and it organically pumps up the sell-ons of the players who are available to be sold.

Rather naive of someone to believe that the media is never manipulated by ‘leaks’ from within. Especially from a club so widely known for generating so much ITK.

  • MiT January 10, 2017 at 7:11 pm

    Brief tangent:

I have always been in very solid support of Kyle Walker, but for the match against WBA, due to the personnel and formation matchup itself, I think Trippier might be more effective. It isn’t like Walker is needed to keep up with Rondon, Berahino, Chadli et al. The 3 backs can handle those fellas.

If Chadli puts one in, it’s not because he blew by anyone. It’s because he was given space out front and placed it well. Let the 3 backs do their work, and let Trippier put in some pretty crosses to break them down.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Chinese programming.

    • Horndog 😎 January 10, 2017 at 7:26 pm

It will be interesting to see if Poch sticks with the three at the back against WBA. Pulis will most likely set up similar to the way Bruce had Villa set up. Defend, frustrate and break. The wingback set up, of ours, is a bit of a deterrent, I believe. Either way Walker or Trippier will have their work cut out for them.

      • MiT January 10, 2017 at 8:03 pm

I think the wingbacks and their crosses are an effective way to spread out and break down the squads that like to pack in behind the ball. Very glad Poch has implemented the 3 back formation to turn the wingbacks loose. I think Pulis’ tactics blow up in WBA’s face this time.

          • AntSpurs January 10, 2017 at 7:22 pm

Yep. Levy will use the media to pump up players values just in time sign new contracts or create attention for players who are going nowhere. This could catch on !

            • MiT January 10, 2017 at 7:41 pm

      • Gloster1861 January 10, 2017 at 6:53 pm

Is he still here? He’s too slight to even be an effective doorstop.

        • MiT January 10, 2017 at 6:56 pm

Even Bentaleb is still here… I think he is only on about 50% caps this season for Schalke, with more subs than starts.

          • Gloster1861 January 10, 2017 at 6:59 pm

Depressing, so no chance of a decent fee for him?

          • Gloster1861 January 10, 2017 at 7:05 pm

He’s made 14 league starts and played the whole match. Subbed in two other matches. Not quite as bleak as you said.

            • MiT January 10, 2017 at 7:15 pm

Ah, good then. I had the pleasure of sharing table space with a Schalke fan in Portland earlier this season. Bentaleb was reportedly reviled over there early on.
